Waverley Lawn Tennis, Squash & Sports Club

One of the foremost names in Scottish tennis, Waverley Lawn Tennis Club was formed in 1885 on its present secluded yet accessible site, in the Newington area of Edinburgh.

Perfect for year round play, it now has four artificial grass courts – two with floodlighting, an attractive clubhouse with squash courts, snooker and fitness rooms, changing areas, sauna, bar and lounge. All set in a quiet, leafy residential area with off-street parking.

Most League teams in East of Scotland
Home to county and international squash and tennis players, Waverley supports Mens, Ladies and Junior teams in both sports as well as hosting annual Open and Club tournaments.

All standards welcome – Coaching available!
There’s a thriving turn-up-and-play social programme alongside ladders and intra-club leagues that can be as friendly or as competitive as you choose! In addition to resident squash coaches, we are fortunate to have an excellent tennis coach in Tam Bruce, who was County Coach for over 15 years and Tennis Scotland Coach of the Year in 2006.

Social Programme all year round With a varied programme of year-round social events - from bar quizzes and family barbecues to wine-tasting and dinner dances - Waverley knows how to reward all that exercising effort. Or, you can just join as a social member if you prefer.and take it from there.
